Back in 2011 DC took their most popular, darkest characters and put them all on the same team, and thus Justice League Dark was born. The team’s original lineup consisted of John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, The Changing Man, and Zatanna. The main purpose of Justice League Dark is to handle the more supernatural issues that the Justice League would be unfit to dispatch.
Next year finally getting a Justice League Dark movie. Even though it’s animated it’s still going to be awesome. The cast is a little bit different than the original lineup. We still have Constantine, Deadman, and Zatanna, but joining them are Etrigan the Demon, Swamp Thing, and Batman (for some reason).
Matt Ryan is returning as John Constantine (he played him in the short lived TV show and one episode of Arrow), alongside Camilla Luddington (Lara Croft in the most recent Tomb Raider games), Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, and Roger Cross as Swamp Thing (among many others).
The movie will have a straight to DVD/Digital/Blu Ray release (though I’m hoping for a theatrical run). It will be available digitally on January 24th, 2017 and on DVD and Blu Ray February 7th, 2017.
