Back in the late 90’s while Marvel was licensing off various properties to third-party studios, a company called ‘5000ft Games’ partnered with an American publishing company called ‘Encore’ to work on a game based off the Man Without Fear, Daredevil himself. The game originally was planned as a small, third person action game for the PS2 until eventually growing into a planned open world game for PS2 as well as Xbox and PC once to coincide with the release of the 2003 film starring Ben Affleck.

Problems started when company heads for Xbox, Sony, and Marvel began butting heads. Sony wanted Daredevil to have a grind ability (because Tony Hawk games were actually popular back then), but Marvel said no as it would not be faithful to the comics. This paired with eventual technical issues lead to the game ultimately being cancelled.

The plot was supposed to revolve around the crime lords of Hell’s Kitchen fighting for power after they learn of Kingpins demise by way of assassination.

All this information comes from ‘DidYouKnowGaming?’ over on Youtube so check out their video below for all the information about the cancelled game.
