GameOn: Ventures 2016 lands in Toronto

This week GameOn:Ventures (GOV), one of the city’s biggest gaming conference, lands at the MaRS Discovery District. Taking place on October 21 & 20, this conference sets out to connect industry leaders for two full days of conversations about how to further developing the business aspects of the industry. GOV includes panels, presentations, keynotes, a pitch competition and many more activities that are sure to peak interests.

Some of the most anticipated moments in the program include a keynote with award winning game designer, programmer and level designer, John Romero. He has worked on iconic games like Quake, Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM. Another highlight for attendees is the pitch competition. It will have 10 local and 10 international entrants that will pitch the next big thing in gaming; and the winners will walk away with $10,000 and support for their next project.

Despite the conference’s focus on people working within the industry it does invite fans to The Interactive Digital Media Expo. Opening to the public on Friday in the lower concourse of the MaRS Discovery, the expo will highlight latest innovations in video games, virtual reality, eLearning and so much more. Fans of the industry can put some of the most cutting edge technologies to the test.
