Warner Bros Interactive has announced an expansion to the popular Mortal Kombat X esports with a new series of competitions in April which includes ESL Mortal Kombat X Pro League Season 3 and the ESL Challenger Cup. Gaming has never been better for fans of Mortal Kombat X with a total prize pool of $500,000 USD and new characters now available to play.
“Mortal Kombat has always been about friends going head-to-head in ‘couch competition.’ With Mortal Kombat X, these players now have multiple ways of jumping into the tournament scene to prove their skills and win cash,” co-creator and Creative Director of NetherRealm Ed Boon had to say, “This is the biggest commitment we’ve made to the esports scene and with our newly enhanced online experience, we’re looking forward to seeing the intense match-ups at the various tournaments we’re supporting.”
The third season of the Mortal Combat X Pro-League begins April 3rd, with fighters from around the globe duel for supremacy over the course of the eight week online season. Then sixteen finalists across North America, Europe, Commonwealth of Individual States (CIS), and now Latin America will meet in Burbank, CA for a live fight (in game of course) for a piece of the $200,000 USD prize pool.
