Ubisoft has issued a statement earlier today about how they plan on dealing with the cheaters within The Division’s servers.
In a podcast recently, Ubisoft sat down to talk in-depth about some of the work that goes into the online architecture. Basically they use server checks to catch people trying to cheat by modifying their client data. Thanks to the server checks and cheat detection Ubisoft has taken action against over 30,000 players including 3,800 permanent bans.
Ubisoft has found that the 14 day bans on first offenses wasn’t ‘enough’ to dissuade cheaters from doing it again, so starting now all first time offenses will be met with a permanent ban.
